I have had the most amazing evening in #InWorldz tonight. I got to dance with the Golden Touch Theatre!
Two shows, 1 at 10am IWT & the 2nd 1 at 2pm IWT all in my evening as I am in the UK
You have no idea of the Hours of work & the dedication these people put into their shows. Each & everyone of them are awesome, with the creation of the costumes, the scenery, the scripts the animations, the choreography, the particles, the fireworks, the music. Believe me you have never seen or heard anything quite like the Golden touch, in any world.
I have many photo’s to show… Over 130!! I know they won’t do them justice, you have to be there to really appreciate such talent & creativity. They will release a video in a few days.
I would like to thank each & everyone in GT Team for inviting me to be a part of this fantastic show this Evening… All for RFLofIW 2016
After all that was the party with the fantastic firework display! More snaps!! 😀
For years I used the 1 prim old style vendors for selling my wares, then about 2yrs ago I went to multi vendors really only for the gifting & discount options that you can offer to customers. I was out shopping a few days ago & had not really noticed this about myself before, but I really only purchase items from 1 prim, old style vendors myself. So it got me thinking (which is often a bad thing lol). I do not like to stand in front of a multi vendor flipping through to find something that I like, sometimes having to wait a while for the photo’s to rez in, so what makes me think that my customers do?
So for the past few days I have built a new store which I am now filling with old style 1 prim vendors, its hard work, I had forgotten that lol. But I am also having the multi vendors around for those who prefer them. It is going to take me a while before I can launch the new store, so my old one is still up & fully stocked with multi vendors filled to the prims with all of my creations 😉
I like how I can display my items in one prim. I like how I can make the store more user friendly with 1 prim vendors. My multi vendors are great… but no matter how I lay them out, you still have to wait a bit for the next page to show the photo’s
A few years ago, after the freebies were removed from IDI (welcome center), Wolf-Tek created the Freebie Ring. I have always used it dotted around my region & it has brought lots of residents in to it. However there are only a handful of Merchants/land owners actually using it. Considering that the main cry by most in IW is that there are no people about, or ‘no one ever comes to my region’ it really surprises me that there are not more using this vital FREE tool for bringing residents to your Region. It is so easy to set up & use, there is a website where Residents can look to see where the freebies are & what is on offer, or they can just use the inworld ring to jump from one to the other.
Four 256×256 meter regions arranged in a square. Each of the four regions would hold a maximum of 12,000 prims for a total of 48,000 prims allowed in a 2×2 area. If you have a region with less than 12k prims you can add the deal.

Mesh is completely new for me, I had worn it in SL, but didn’t really know that much about it. Now I am learning super fast! lol. There is so much that goes into it, I don’t just mean the creating, its all the rigging & weighting you have to learn. I began a few months back learning Blender… boy is that an experience! I am comfortable with the interface now & I keep a handy list around for reference. I made a couple of simple skirts, which I had thought were correct they were nothing special, but I had created them. I uploaded these to Inworldz when Mesh was activated & although they moved with my Avatar it was clear that they did not deform as they were supposed to do with the deformer having been added to the IWv2 Viewer. I tried several ways, I didn’t even know if I was uploading them correctly. Then I came across some free meshes, I uploaded a few, still the same they just were not deforming. A friend then took a look at them & uploaded them to see what was going on… apparently they were old files & the rigging was off slightly & that was why they did not deform.
Luckily I was able to open them in Blender 2.67 & I began to re rig them, following the tutorials I had been using to learn how to make mesh clothing. I uploaded the newly rigged files & hey presto… they worked with the deformer… hurray! I thought, but oh… why are they distorting the new textures I had made, they hadn’t done that before… and here is where I quickly had to learn all about weighting.. until I get that right I wouldn’t even begin to release them.
It is a trial & error which is how I learnt to do all I can do anyway.
Right now I am trying out different ways to weight the mesh so that they move perfectly on the avatar without breaking or distorting my textures. Texturing them is really quite simple, a lot easier than texturing a sculptie I have found. I am enjoying learning this new skill, I just had not realised how much work was involved… no wonder they charge so much for Mesh content in SL. It certainly makes you appreciate the expense once you know exactly what is involved behind every item of mesh clothing.
There is good Mesh & bad mesh & I want to only make good Mesh, so Watch this space 😉
