A Thriving Community!

A few weeks ago, tired of all the Drama on the Forums, I decided to stop posting to any of the discussion threads. A few things had sickened me… 1stly that idiotic Nazi debate in which some residents even went so far as to form a petition, shortly after that I watched, again disgusted, as a Long term resident, was lambasted for trying to create an informational Blog. Thankfully he went ahead with his idea & you can find that link under the handy links 😉 I also relented & posted in some forum discussions 😉

You hear all of the time of how new residents coming over from SL do not feel welcomed. I find that hard to believe as despite all the drama that gets witnessed on the forums, the community as a whole is very welcoming to all. Though I have to say that any Merchants coming over from SL need to come here as though they are Brand New, which means they need to advertise & participate & not just expect that their name alone will sell their goods. It doesn’t work that way in InWorldz. Most of us support those who are active within the grid, your name won’t mean diddly squat to me if I am not seeing any advertising. I left SL over 5yrs ago, so most of those coming now I have never heard of.

You need to get involved with things going on, I don’t mean go to every event. I & most creators are stuck on their platforms & do not socialise, that is not why I am here.. I am here to create, but what I do, do, is advertise, I get involved with other things like the Brilliant #Hashtag #InWorldz Twitter campaign.

Now I say the community is thriving because it is & if you really want to see how a community pulls together then just view what occurred when a long time resident put out a plea for some RL help

Hard to believe that a few of those same residents actually sickened me a few weeks before with their antics on the Forums

I think sometimes people just do not think before they post, or perhaps their nationality makes it harder for them to put into words what they are trying to say so that they come across as being aggressive…

The Truth is… The InWorldz Community is probably one of the best around & I am glad to be a part of it

Branching Out…. again!

In 2009 when I became completely dissatisfied with Secondlife, having been there for 3yrs at that point. I set out to find me a new world, with the intentions of setting up my virtual business on them. Well the 1st grid I found became a disaster after only 2mths in, I don’t think it is even around anymore, but that disaster led me to my present virtual world… InWorldz… my Home. I did try others, with that same intention of setting up a store, but I never felt comfortable in them & most did not have a currency, so I stuck with InWorldz, giving up secondlife entirely when they 1st started changing Tos & it was explained to me that basically, they owned my stuff! I also gave up on the idea of having a presence in all worlds, I had made an avatar in most, but that was about all I had done. There was one I did open up a store in… Avination, but that was short lived, no one there, not at that time, wasn’t worth the effort & it is a big effort to open a store & fill it with your goods on any world.

I have been in Inworldz for over 5yrs now & just recently I have had that urge to discover new worlds again. Not to find myself a new home, I am happy with the Home I have in InWorldz, even if I am tired of all the recent drama we have seen on the Forums. I have the intention of branching out, setting up my store in new worlds & having some sort of presence in each.

I found 2 new worlds… The Adult grid & Virtual Paradise Grid Both Grids owned by People I know from Inworldz #VPGrid being the one I feel most comfortable in because it has a different feel to it, like a breath of fresh air…

So I have been busily uploading some of my content & stocking up my stores in each grid. It isn’t an easy task to do & doesn’t leave me much time for creating NEW, but its a slow time in VW’s with the summer being here & most People out enjoying the Sun & not stuck behind their computers & in VW’s much.

I have also set up a blog for Virtual Paradise Grid with the intentions of running that the same way I run this blog, as an informative place… well that’s the intention anyway lol. I have made some new pages on my Store blog so people can see what content I have in each grid

Over the course of the last couple of months or so, it has become apparent that Linden Labs has been tightening the cash outs, or taking longer, etc., thus forcing people to make accounts over here to attempt to cash their L’s out.

For clarification: InWorldz economy stands on it’s own, we are not tied to Linden Lab, nor any other grid for that matter. When you attempt to cash out against our merchants and residents who are growing this economy, while not being a part of it, we will remove the cashout.

From a business standpoint, we are not about to start absorbing a loss for Linden Lab and their cash outs. This would be very foolhardy on our part to even try to absorb those. If you wish to cash out in our world, then you need to be a part of it, otherwise expect us to put a hold on those monies and not cash them out (as this also sets off my fraud flags when I look over the accounts).

If you are encouraging people to bring their cash outs over here, please stop. This is not helpful to our merchants or residents who do normal business daily in our grid. If you know someone who is encouraging others to do this, please let them know to stop or send them to this thread 🙂

Last night I decided to go have a looksie at the RP Tuition held on IDI, RP is something I have been interested in doing for a long time & with the Focus now on RP in Inworldz.. there is no better time to learn

Exploring InWorldz ~ The Pondarosa

Last night I went exploring using the Map, I just opened it up & went sim hopping, 1st I found 2 Regions, completely blank??? But then I discovered this little beauty! The Ponderosa, what a lovely little hidden gem!

It had been almost 5yrs since the last resident meet up with founders, so i was really looking forward to it. I wasn’t disappointed. There were a lot of residents (as you can see from the mass of green dots on the mini map in corner) that did attend the town hall meeting, old & new alike.

I haven’t really felt like being inworld much over the last couple of Months, only really logged in to pay rentals or welcome new tennants. I had been in an outfit I began creating at the beginning February & hadn’t really finished, I just lost heart in things for a while. It is coming up to my 5th Rez day in Inworldz, that is longer than I was ever in Secondlife!

This week though I made a determined effort to get some work done, but I still didn’t feel like finishing that new outfit, as I still have a lot of items with the old GJCR code I decided to work on rebranding instead & had just finished & put out something when I saw a posting in the Forum about Model Bots, so I grabbed me one of those, as wolf was giving them away free, I then spent a few hours playing around with them & it was fun!

Though we have now been asked to not rez them as they need to fix some bugs!

Inworldz has grown so much from its humble beginnings, when we didn’t even have prim hair! I have never viewed Inworldz as an alternative to secondlife, to me the 2 worlds are very different. I can honestly say that I have never had the problems in IW that I had in SL & any problems that I or others have had have been seen too asap by the Founders.

IW5 – Celebrating 5 Years Of InWorldz!

IW5 – Celebrating 5 Years Of InWorldz! Gathering Participants

We are about to have a very BIG BIRTHDAY here at InWorldz and so, we will be celebrating in a VERY BIG WAY!

We will be having a celebration at the IW Events sims from March 16th Through April 2nd 2014. The area entails 21 sims, though 6 of those are water sims intended to minimize lag. We are spreading this far and taking great measures to ensure minimal lag. We ask all participants to help us as well by minimizing scripts.

Of the 21 Sims- 15 will be showcasing some aspects of InWorldz you may not see in your daily lives here. Features like Roleplay from light to dark, Fantasy oceanscape with mer and pirate roleplay, gypsy camp where all are welcome to dance by the fire, the Tinyville sim where tiny, petites and furries can give you a glimpse into their worlds, Dreamscape- a Dreamlike fantasy landscape you may never want to leave, An entire sim dedicated to Visual Arts, A sim for Music – our Main Stage, one to Fashion with Fashion Shows by 3 major Agencies of InWorldz, 4 Contests sims- details below, A sim representing the adult communities of IW, and finally, A Merchant sim for shopping that will knock your socks off- but don’t worry you can but new ones there!

Sim 1 Fashion

There will be THREE fashion shows on this sim showcasing the works of many great designers throughout the grid!

A fantasy landscape that you may never want to leave!

Sim 11 – Visual Arts
A sim to celebrate the works of participating individual artists throughout the InWorldz Grid and – wow- there are so many!
There will also be an area where you can learn about Public Art Groups throughout the grid.
This sim features a main Gallery and surrounding art park- you may even catch some visual performance art here as well!

Sim 15 Main Stage- A World Of Music!
Or main stage for musical performances, Live Performers & DJs
Additionally visit music around OUR world, a huge resource of music venues, clubs and performance stages throughout the inWorldz Grid!

Sim 16 – Gypsies Of InWorldz – Mature / RP Content
The Gypsies of InWorldz is one of the largest Roleplay groups on the grid! Come explore their world and be carefree, dance by the fire, hitch up a vardo and meet fellow travelers! You might even catch a live performer there! Gypsy RP attire will fit in best there and can be found in stores all over the IW Grid!

Sim 17 Roleplay – Shadow – Mature / RP Content
The Darker side or Roleplay lurks within this sim, from Vampires to trolls to village storming Dragons- enter if you dare, roleplay and combat permitted

Sim 18 Roleplay – Light – Mature / RP Content
The Lighter side of Roleplay – Elven, Fae and more Roleplay is permitted here so be warned, you may walk into an orc slaying if one happens to sneak in from sim 17!

Sim 19 Tinyville
A sim for some our cute fun and furry friends in IW from Tinies to teeny and petite avatars to furries- all are welcome to give us a glimpse into their world!

Sim 20 Merchant Mall
Merchants of InWorldz (Non fashion as there is a fashion only sim) Selling a wide variety of their creations! Come shop till you drop!

Sim 21 Adult Community – Mature Content
A soft glimpse into the many facets of the Adult Communities of InWorldz. Learn about adult Themed Activities happening at The Adult HUB, Bohemia and more from galleries to clubs.
